History

History

  • Founded in 1926 by Arthur Gulliver in Coconut Grove, Gulliver's academy was compared to the prestigious academies of the US Northeast and initially attracted families who came to Florida for the winter.
  • At the end of 1953, Marian Krutulis acquired the school. As a pioneer in the field of education, Marian presented the school as a luxurious home where students and teachers will feel like part of a caring family. Over the course of 25 years, she moved the academy to Coral Gables, built a high school preparatory school at Pinecrest, and received a Blue Ribbon of Distinction from the US Department of Education, which elevated the Gulliver School to the level of one of the best educational institutions in the region.
