A few words about Florida parks
Florida's National Wildlife Refuges are a tremendous asset to the state. In total, there are more than 100 parks and reserves, containing everything from museums and cultivated gardens to entire islands and vast areas of wilderness.
The first of the national parks and reserves in Florida was opened back in 1921, and the youngest of them are not yet ten years old. Most of them are open to tourists and campers.
The state's climate is considered the most favorable and mild in the country: subtropical in most of it and tropical in the south. The state has many rivers, lakes, streams and other bodies of water, as well as inhabitants characteristic of an aquatic environment: alligators, crabs, frogs, herons, and a huge variety of fish.

Due to its location and climatic features, the nature of Florida is extremely diverse - here you can find virgin forests, coniferous and deciduous, and the sea coast, and marshy areas. There is also typical tropical flora and flora characteristic of a temperate climate: palm trees and pine trees, ficus and oak trees, orchids and willows — more than a thousand species. Moreover, 50% of the state’s lands are occupied by untouched, virgin forests.
The fauna of the state is not inferior to the flora — raccoons, opossums, Florida cougars, which are listed in the Red Book, pelicans, owls, woodpeckers, hawks, snakes and turtles live here. Off the coast of Florida live manatees — completely unique marine mammals.
A National Scenic Trail has been created that passes through many of Florida's protected areas. It is not possible to walk along its entire length, since it stretches across the entire state, but exploring a small part of it is quite interesting.
