Japanese Gardens and Morikami Museum

Morikami Park and Japanese Gardens tour and walks in Florida

Description

Description

  • Morikami Japanese Garden and Museum is a well-groomed garden and park complex with traditional Japanese sculptures, interesting park solutions and exhibitions. You can see an interesting collection of real bonsai — dwarf trees.
  • Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens will require at least one and a half to two hours to walk around the entire territory. Of course, Morikami Garden in Florida differs significantly from real Japanese parks and gardens. First of all, the size. There is no traditional Japanese desire to fit everything that is possible on a tiny piece of land.
  • Enough space. Rivers and ponds intercepted by graceful Asian bridges are about 5 times larger than the original ones. Japanese akai koi and kuri koi feeding ponds are normal ponds, not fountain cups. Carp food can be bought here. Nimble and cheerful red-eared turtles quite successfully compete for food with carps.
  • Perhaps a little lacking in sophistication and sophistication, the classic change of angles for oriental gardens, when the view completely changes in just half a step. But it is spacious, everything is clearly visible, in the best European traditions.
  • Those interested in East Asian culture will enjoy the tea ceremony. Ceremonies are held according to the schedule, which is better to know in advance. The Morikami Museum has collected more than 7,000 interesting exhibits from which you can learn about the ancient culture of Japan.

Leisure, festivals and exhibitions

Leisure, festivals and exhibitions

  • Morikami Park is convenient and comfortable. There are benches in picturesque places. The general atmosphere is friendly, there is no Japanese stiffness and ceremoniality. No one will look askance or disapproval at the tourists patting on the belly of the statue of a laughing Buddha, which is freely lounging in a flower bed. For children there will be entertainment. This is feeding carp, testing the strength of thin bridges, playing with fountains.
  • It will be interesting for adults to visit the bamboo grove, carefully consider the arrangement of real rock gardens, just take a walk in a picturesque cultural environment, among neatly and intricately trimmed plants. Children love to feed carps, according to Japanese beliefs, this activity should bring good luck and wealth in later life.
  • Morikami Japanese Garden and Museum is a real masterpiece of park art.
  • The most interesting thing in Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens is, of course, shows and festivals. Shows of Japanese drummers, tours of the Kabuki theater and modern theaters, carp festivals, holidays for boys and girls — all these are incredibly colorful and interesting spectacles that are worth seeing.
