Excursion to Islands of Adventure

What if you could jump into different universes all at once — from Hogwarts to hidden jungles, from Marvel heroes to the magical worlds of childhood?
Imagine a place where dinosaurs come to life, where you can wave a magic wand and befriend superheroes, where every step becomes part of a grand adventure.
Islands of Adventure in Orlando is not just an amusement park. It's a carefully crafted journey into the world of imagination — designed so that even adults feel like kids again, and kids become the heroes of their own stories.

And believe us, it’s a feeling worth holding onto for a long time.

At the opening of "Islands of Adventure," top-tier celebrities were present, and the launch was accompanied by a massive advertising campaign featuring Universal characters, special screenings, and even TV broadcasts.

How Universal Created Dream Worlds

Universal’s Islands of Adventure, or simply "Islands of Adventure," officially opened to the public on May 28, 1999.
But the story of this park began much earlier — with a bold idea: to create a themed space where every guest doesn't just watch the action but becomes part of it.
Universal had already found success with Universal Studios Florida, but the next step had to be bigger — and braver. Unlike the studio-style park, where attractions revolved around the filmmaking process, Islands of Adventure offered something different: true immersion into the storyline.

The core concept was based on “islands,” each representing a distinct themed world. This approach gave Universal’s creative team the freedom to unleash their imagination — from Marvel comics to the tales of Dr. Seuss, from dinosaurs to wizards — all brought together on one map.

The creation of the park took nearly six years. The project involved not only engineers and architects, but also screenwriters, directors, costume designers, animators, psychologists — hundreds of professionals typically hired to produce Hollywood films.

The total area of Islands of Adventure spans about 45 hectares. The park is located next to Universal Studios and is connected to it by CityWalk — a vibrant pedestrian zone filled with restaurants, shops, and entertainment venues. The park is divided into eight themed "islands,” each crafted with stunning attention to detail.

Where the Real Fun Begins: What to Do at Islands of Adventure

One of the main advantages of Islands of Adventure is that everyone can find something to love here. This isn’t just a park with rides — it’s cinema, theater, shows, and a real-life video game where you’re the main character. The attractions don’t just spin or shake you — they tell stories. They make you scream, laugh, gasp in awe, and relive the childhood magic where anything is possible.

  1. 01. VelociCoaster — when speed becomes style
If you’re into adrenaline — don’t miss the VelociCoaster. This next-generation roller coaster is themed around the Jurassic World universe, where you’re chased by velociraptors. Speeds reach up to 112 km/h (70 mph), with barrel rolls, water-side turns, and a launch from 0 to extreme in seconds — all surrounded by cliffs, jungles, and the roars of dinosaurs.
  2. 02. Welcome to Hogsmeade: the magical world of Harry Potter
Even if you’re not a die-hard Harry Potter fan, this part of the park will absolutely wow you. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade is recreated down to the tiniest details: smoking chimneys, snow-covered rooftops, chocolate frogs, the Hogwarts Express on platform 9¾ — and, of course, Hogwarts Castle itself, which you’ll explore on the thrilling simulator ride Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey. Be sure to visit Ollivander’s wand shop, where the wand chooses the wizard — just like in the books!
  3. 03. Jurassic Park River Adventure — a plunge into the age of giants
This ride starts off calm — like a scenic boat tour through a peaceful park. But things quickly spiral out of control… Alarms sound. Lights flash. You enter a zone where the dinosaurs have broken free, and at the climax, you plunge down a 12-meter (40-foot) drop with a roaring T-Rex looming above!
  4. 04. Marvel Super Hero Island — the heroes are waiting
If you love comics and superhero movies, head to the island where Spider-Man, Hulk, Wolverine and other Marvel legends await face to face. One of the top rides here is the Incredible Hulk Coaster: it launches with a growling acceleration, loops over water, and delivers epic views in a futuristic setting. Don’t miss The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man — a 4D ride packed with fire, water, virtual reality, and intense motion!
  5. 05. Seuss Landing — a world where children’s books come to life
This part of the park is perfect for families with little ones. Everything here is inspired by the stories of Dr. Seuss — the whimsical author behind “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” and “The Cat in the Hat.” Gentle rides, musical shows, hug-worthy characters, and bright cheerful colors everywhere. No sharp corners, no scary scenes — just a fairytale world where good always wins.

Beyond the Thrills: Top Eats and Chill Spots at the Park

One of the best things about Islands of Adventure is that you don’t have to rush from one ride to the next until your battery runs out. This park is a complete adventure, where even breaks become part of the experience. Want a delicious meal? Want to relax by the water with a cocktail? Listen to live music? Or browse shops themed after Harry Potter? You can do all of that here — and so much more.

Restaurants and Cafés: A Culinary Journey Through the Universes

Food in the park is not just about grabbing a quick bite — it’s part of the immersive experience. Almost every eatery is styled to match its “island” and offers dishes created with imagination and humor. Here are a few places you won’t want to miss:

  1. 01.Three Broomsticks
The famous tavern from Hogsmeade, recreated with stunning accuracy. Wooden beams, a glowing hearth, flickering lights, and hearty dishes fit for a wizard. Try the Butterbeer (non-alcoholic, but magically delicious), shepherd’s pie, smoked ribs, roast chicken, and pumpkin juice — yes, just like in the books!
  2. 02. Thunder Falls Terrace
Located right across from a dinosaur waterfall in the Jurassic Park zone. Known for delicious grilled meats: chicken, ribs, buttery roasted corn. The vibe is like a hunting lodge for Spielberg’s archaeologists.
  3. 03. Mythos Restaurant
A legendary eatery in the Lost Continent island. A multi-time winner of the best theme park restaurant in the U.S. Interior feels like a subterranean temple with waterfalls and pillars. Cuisine is a blend of Mediterranean, Greek, and modern American. A perfect place to rest in cool, calm surroundings.
  4. 04. Cafe 4 & Comic Strip Cafe
Located on the superhero and cartoon islands, you can grab a burger, taco, pizza, or fusion-style noodles. No frills, lots of humor, and super-fast service. Perfect if you're with kids or need something quick between thrill rides.

Shopping: Magic Wands, Dinosaurs, and Marvel Artifacts

Islands of Adventure is not just a park — it’s also a massive themed marketplace where you can buy everything from interactive wands with microchips to an Iron Man helmet.

  • In Hogsmeade — robes, wands, sweets, books, owls, and house-crest headbands.
  • In the Marvel area — T-shirts, figurines, comics, and rare collector’s items.
  • In Jurassic Park — dinosaurs in all shapes and sizes, "amber fossils" with mosquitoes, and science-themed souvenirs.
  • In Seuss Landing — plush toys, books, fun hats with ears, and playful slogans.

Shows, Interaction, and Pure Magic

Beyond the rides and food, the park is full of spontaneous entertainment that brings bursts of joy between the bigger thrills:

  • Magic duels and spontaneous spells
Mini-performances and wizarding lessons take place in the streets of Hogsmeade.
  • Superhero Parade
Motorcycles with Wolverine, Storm, Captain America, and even Doctor Doom roll through the street unexpectedly.
  • Street music groups
Like a rock-and-roll witch band from the magical school of Beauxbatons.
  • Interactive and splash zones
Especially refreshing on hot days — and there are plenty in Orlando.
  • Face painting and temporary tattoos
Transform into an elf, pirate, or superhero in under 10 minutes.
  • Photo zones with live actors and costumed characters
Kids adore them — and adults love a hug from the Hulking Green Giant, too.

Experience Islands of Adventure the American Butler Way

If you're planning a trip but don’t want to stand in lines, get lost in the routes, or waste time searching for a bathroom instead of entering Hogwarts, then the American Butler tour is made for you — it’s not just a transfer, it’s your personal guide, guardian angel, and magical navigator all in one.

  1. 01. Morning: Comfortable Transfer Without Stress
07:30–08:30 — Departure from the meeting point (either in Orlando or Miami, depending on the route). Your guide will arrive in a comfortable car or minivan with air conditioning, water, Wi-Fi, and chargers. During the drive — introductions, a brief briefing, tips, jokes, and customizing the perfect itinerary for your day.
  2. 02. 10:00 — Entrance to the Park with Your Guide
Assistance with purchasing tickets (if you haven’t bought them in advance). Bonus: You can get priority entrance tickets to avoid spending half a day in lines. The guide helps you go through security, explains where everything is, gives you a map, and creates an easy-to-follow route based on your preferences: adrenaline, kids, shows, photos, cafés, etc.
  3. 03. 10:15–13:00 — First Adventures
In the first half of the day, you typically manage to visit the most popular attractions — such as Hogwarts, Hulk, or Jurassic Park, take your first photos and videos with characters, grab a light breakfast or coffee, and if you have kids, stop by Seuss Landing or the Marvel zone for gentler rides. Your guide will be nearby the whole time — not intrusive, but always available to offer help, take a photo, switch umbrellas, or remind you to apply sunscreen.
  4. 04. 13:00–14:00 — Lunch
Depending on your taste: a family meal at Three Broomsticks, with a view of the waterfall and dinosaurs at Thunder Falls Terrace, fine dining at Mythos Restaurant, or something light, quick, and fun at the fast food spots.
  5. 05. 14:00–17:00 — Shows, Shopping, and Free Time
After lunch, it’s time for shows, strolls, shops, and “soul-soothing” zones: street performances, live music, shopping at Hogsmeade and the Marvel Universe stores, relaxing walks along bridges and locations, a photo session with your guide, interactive moments with magic wands, or water zones.
  6. 06. 17:00–18:00 — Gifts, Farewell, and Transfer
Pick up souvenirs, photos, and grab an ice cream for a farewell treat. The guide will help you pack up, escort you to your transfer, and if you get lost — they’ll find you and your umbrella. Return to the departure point with an optional quick stop at souvenir spots along the way.
