Why CRSSD is interesting
Visitors to the CRSSD festival congregate at San Diego Coastal Park every year. The event is a return to the origins of dance music culture.
Despite the fact that the show started quite early, the participants are far from newcomers.
The festival takes place off 1600 Pacific Coast Highway , directly opposite the bay. The venue shares space with the San Diego County Administrative Building. The park where the event takes place is an urban oasis with fountains, green grass and footpaths.
CRSSD is small in scope — unlike Coachella or EDC, there are only three simple scenes here. If other places are overloaded with sophisticated equipment and complex lighting, then everything is quite simple here — four strobe lights are enough for the organizers.
While San Diego cannot be equated with the leader of the underground music scene, the organizers are doing their best to change it for the better for Southern California residents who are clearly craving more of these parties. This festival is not for fans of mainstream music, but for those looking for deeper and more soul-stirring sounds.
Who plays at CRSSD
2019 will feature an impressive lineup of headliners and aspiring artists for all tastes. Here are the top three artists to hear:
- Odesza is an American duo who changed electronic music with their unique and vibrant sound. Their captivating, vibrant rhythm has made them some of the most sought-after artists in the world.
- Petit Biscuit is a French DJ and producer who has created hit after hit. The popular tracks Sunset Lover and Memories will awaken nostalgic feelings in you and immerse you in a fiery summer atmosphere.
- Lane 8 is an American DJ and producer known for deep and progressive house songs.
On September 28 and 29, 2019, the creators will celebrate their tenth anniversary with a lineup that includes Portugal. The Man, Hot Chip and Kaytranada. Other confirmed artists include FISHER, Yaeji, Amelie Lens, Objekt, Artbat, Ross From Friends, and Tiger & Woods. You will hear more than three dozen concerts in two days, surrounded by 15,000 spectators.
Tips for visiting
The festival will have a healthy dose of dancing in the scorching sun, so bring sunscreen, bottles of clean water, and a towel to sit on the grass.
