Coral Gables Museum

Is a place filled with the spirit of the Great Depression. Visitors can learn about how this picturesque corner of the city was formed, as well as see works of art that reflect its spirit and history.

History of the Coral Gables Museum

The tragedy of modernism and the hope of a Mediterranean revival are interwoven here. The public museum was founded a little more than 20 years ago.

People come to the Coral Gables Museum in order to learn more about the history of local residents, about how Florida developed and grew, what happened to the pioneers during the time of the earth boom, as well as about other events. Many of the building's exhibits are dedicated to the life of J. Merrick, the founding father of the oldest US community.

In 2011, the Coral Gables Museum was reorganized and was opened in a new form, transformed in the Spanish direction. After the rebuilding, the Coral Gables Historical Museum acquired an additional 3,000 square feet of exhibition space and nearly 5,000 feet of land dedicated to display architectural art and ecosystem features.
