Miami Design District - Best restaurants - American ButlerRestaurants fashion district

The Miami Design District has evolved from a sleepy cloister of showrooms into a creative setting for visitors tired of South Beach.

While the district is still under development, the fun on the street already attracts celebrities, star chefs and socialite.

This place is a hive of activity during working hours, at night it is rather quiet here, since most shops close early.

The area is replete with top-class restaurants offering gourmet food, fresh Sunday brunch and extremely vibrant performances.

Here you can easily meet a famous actor or a singer at a table in one of the many restaurants lazily drinking coffee.

Or watch the photo shoots and shows of modern designers and fashion designers - there is always something to do.

Michael'S Genuine Food & Drink

Perhaps the most influential person in the development of the design distric is the chef Michael Schwartz , the owner of Michael's Genuine Food and Drink - the center of the new culinary Mecca. The restaurant is divided into two worlds: an open patio and a cozy dining room.

Guests can watch the presentation of dishes, strolling through the open-air kitchen. Devoted gourmets vie for a place in the kitchen, so that they can talk personally with the chef. You can also enjoy gourmet snacks and hot dishes from a wood-fired oven, including chickens, fish, pork shoulder and cheese plate - Michael's signature dish.

Confectioner Hedy Goldsmith adds a sweet touch to your meal, so be sure to leave some room for her innovative desserts. It is strongly recommended to book a table in advance, especially for the Sunday brunch.

MC Kitchen

The Italian restaurant MC Kitchen is a creation of chef Dena Marino and her business partner Brandy Coletta. Marino honed her skills at Aspen Colorado and continued to master modern Italian cooking with chef Michael Chiarello, whose restaurant Tra Vigne in Napa sets the bar high for seasonal cuisine.

Fusing his family's rustic Italian recipes with high standards of service, Marino brings a new wave of revamped traditional cuisine to Miami. In the open kitchen MC Kitchen there is a wood burning hearth used to make crispy pizza and piadini, the basis of the lunch menu. The chef also offers antipasti, salads, pasta and the popular semi-pound angus beef burger.

In the late afternoon, the menu expands and includes lasagna topped with bechamel and pumpkin sauce, filled with tortellini in a rabbit stew. Grilled pork chops, tender Colorado lamb rack and massive bone-in steak are ideal dishes to share with friends.

Harry's Pizzeria

Few are the chefs of Miami, as popular as Michael Schwartz. He opened Harry's Pizzeria in a small store just a few blocks from his lively city bistro. You may ask, why is the name Harry and not Michael in the title? It's simple - the cook called the institution in honor of his son.

The restaurant has only 40 seats, and its menu is quite limited: here you will find delicious cakes with a variety of fillings, from shrimp and braised pork to caramelized onions and homemade cheese.

Schwartz and assistants feel free to innovate and change the menu. Fresh ingredients supplied by local suppliers. Craft beer Schwartz brings from cool Florida breweries. The service is friendly, but it will take a long time to wait.

Mandolin Aegean Bistro

The bistro is located between the Design District and the historic district of Buena Vista in a unique home from the 1940s.

Loyal restaurateurs created a romantic setting, which is an ideal place for al fresco dining. The menu includes small snacks: leek poached, crunchy calamari, fondue with tomatoes, eggplant and bean pate, ready to be spread on baked pide bread. Simple rustic dishes include sea bass, a delicate lamb sandwich with crispy fries, and a traditional moussaka casserole with layers of meat and eggplant, baked with Béchamel sauce.

Guests must call in advance to reserve a table on the street or in a tiny dining room with 17 seats. Enjoy a variety of flavors and reunite with friends and family.
