Features and Attractions
- "Say yes to Orlando" is the motto of the county seat of Orange County. In the past, citrus and cotton plantations were the main industry here, but in 1971 Walt Disney built a huge amusement park in the center of the Florida peninsula.
- The entertainment industry is developing by leaps and bounds and today Orlando is the world capital of theme parks. The central area of Orlando is Downtown, small in area, but not in density. Orange Street, Church Street and Wall Street. At these addresses you can find the most attractive and unusual clubs, cafes and restaurants, for example, a completely ice-Bar. You can take a walk in the green zone of Lake Eola, see the famous science center, the near-scientific Ripley Museum-Kunstkamera, where the skeleton of a mermaid and other interesting things are exhibited among the exhibits.
- Not far from Orlando are the beaches of the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico, the D.F. Kennedy Space Center with spaceport sites and the huge Gatorland reptile park.
Orlando got its second name because of the numerous film and television studios in the city, in which series and TV shows are filmed. The Florida Film Festival attracts young filmmakers and has released many recognizable projects such as Blair Witch and Monstro.
Theatrical stage in Hollywood is undoubtedly held in high esteem. Ballet and opera provide excellent performances, and numerous troupes are closely associated with the theater arts departments of the University of Florida and Rollies College.
In the spring, the city hosts two popular theater festivals: Fringe at Lock Haven Park and New Plays at Lake Harriet.
