Crandon Beach: rest on the ocean
Crandon park is a fairly large city park within Miami and a once famous coconut plantation in the United States, which was founded by W. J. Matheson with the support of his family. For a long time, the plantation was managed by William's heirs, and in 1940, part of this land was transferred to the ownership of the state for the creation of a public complex. Today this is Crandon Park, which has become the most popular and favorite recreational haven for residents and visitors of the city.
The public complex has a beach just over 3 km long. This corner has received universal recognition; the sandy shore is considered one of the safest. It's hard to find something like this on the Atlantic coast!
And it’s completely justified: clean, clear water, sand, as if sifted through a sieve to get rid of garbage, luxurious palm trees along the entire coast — a real piece of paradise! The waves here are very small and rare, which is why Crandon Beach is so pleasant and easy to relax with children.
The shore of Crandon Park is one of the most important attractions of the territory, but it is far from the only one.
Today, the park's coastal zone is among the top 10 such particles in America.

Crandon Park Nature Center houses real dunes, as well as sea grass and algae, a large number of ancient mangrove reefs.
Active entertainment and other features of the park
Part of the park is designated as a reserve, and various studies of nature are constantly conducted on it. In the XX century, a zoo functioned in Crandon park, and there was something to see here: real elephants and rhinos, lions and other cats, as well as all kinds of monkeys and rare Galapagos turtles. Even the Bengal tiger had its own possessions in the reserve, but in 1981 the zoo area was moved to the south of Miami.
Fascinating cycling excursions await you if you decide to spend $20 to rent a bike, as well as interesting adventures in kayaking and canoeing. Through waterways you can get to a desert island.
On the coast, Crandon park is often played volleyball, here you can rent grill accessories, change clothes in comfortable booths. The Crandon Center hosts interesting exhibits and tours every day.
Going here with the kids, you can visit the family center for entertainment, located on a wonderful promenade near the entrance.
