History and Attractions of Hialeah
Hialeah is a city in Florida, in the United States of America, located in Miami Dade County. Its population is just over 200 thousand people. There are often inscriptions and signs in Spanish, and the area itself is very unusual.
In order to visit it, you do not have to spend a lot of time and effort — just contact American Butler. We will help organize your life, study, vacation or medical care, and we will not overcharge.
The Native American name translates as High Prairie, and resembles grassy plains. The territory was used by the Indians to showcase their goods to all new arrivals in Miami. This area caught the eye of pioneer pilots Glen Curtiss and Missouri cattleman James H. Bright, who saw his great potential in 1921.
This city has always grown quite fast due to the fact that it is located near the highway, for example, Okeechobee and Palmetto Roads. Hialea as a city was founded in 1925. Sometimes the suburbs of Miami are confused with the other, neighboring town of Hialeah Gardens, but this municipality left the Walter Olers camp, and in December 1948 was framed as a real city. Initially, the main occupation here was horse breeding, but in 1968 the government decided that it was time for the city to grow. But we will describe both cities, since they are inextricably linked.
The “City of Progress," as Hailia is also called, has historically been home to many Cuban refugees and exiles. Several monuments and parks throughout the city pay tribute to the leaders and heroes who are important for the culture of many residents. The city is dominated by the Hispanic population, of which more than 94%. Puerto Ricans, Mexicans, and other Hispanic groups live here, making Hailia a culturally diverse place to live. The government pays considerable attention to education: in this district there are many schools and universities.
The best pastimes in parks
- Hialia Park is a special place, and in 1979 it became part of the National Register of Historic Places. This is the oldest park in all of southern Florida. It is famous for excellent race tracks and wonderful birds — pink flamingos. Also here the main horse races have always been held. By 2003, it was in this park that the favorite entertainment of the rich, the casino, appeared. It also has many restaurants and cafeterias, boutiques and clubs — all for an interesting pastime.
- Wonderful parks have become most famous — in Westland Gardens you can have fun with active sports, swim in the pool, let the children play in the playground, and young people can choose their own way of having fun from many options: baseball, swimming, dancing, football and other entertainments. This park is specially equipped for active recreation of all visitors.
- Golden Eagle Park is a place with many playgrounds, gazebos and shopping stalls.
- Joe Sherron Park is another great park. Well, the best place to eat outdoors on a picnic is Bernie Wilson Park.
Bars and Restaurants
- 01. Cuban and Argentinean cuisine is most often found in local establishments offering food. Tasty and mouth-watering dishes are surprisingly beautiful and unusual, and will appeal to even the most sophisticated gourmets. The most famous restaurants in the city are Don Cameron, Sergio's, Jalapenos Mexican and Cuban Grill, Havana Grill.
- 02. Don Cameron Sea Food Grill — the best restaurant with seafood. The choice of places for a tasty meal is very large in this city, but it is important to remember that it is not at all necessary that people (and employees, including) will know English.
