Kendall — picturesque suburb of Miami

Kendall is a prestigious Miami suburb, is known for its shopping centers, restaurants, and parks offering a retreat from urban hustle.

Attractions

Kendall is one of the sleeping suburbs of Miami — the administrative center of the sunny state of Florida. Located 12 kilometers southwest of Downtown Miami. It bears the name of the American entrepreneur Henry John Broughton Kendall, who has lived and worked in these places since 1900.

Like most North American suburbs, Kendall is home to attractive one- and two-story cottages. Mostly middle class strata live here. The population of the suburb is 75 thousand people. More than half of them have Hispanic roots and speak two languages: English and Spanish.

The main attractions of the Kendall area are due to its tourist significance. For visitors:

  • open-air cafes and stationary restaurants;
  • multifunctional shopping centers and hotels;
  • green areas and entertainment attractions for adults and children.

There are several parks to choose from:

  • the manicured Sabal Chase field next to the primary school;
  • the densely forested Environmental Center near the campus;
  • Devon Air Park is a landscaped area with tennis courts, basketball and baseball courts.

Dining and shopping

Hungry after outdoor activities, you can go to one of the many eateries:

  • The local burger Fuddruckers serves delicious sandwiches;
  • Miami is called “the gateway to Latin America” for a reason — you will find great Colombian cuisine in establishments with Spanish names: Havana Harry's, Casavana and La Carreta;
  • Spicy italian meals are excellently prepared at Anthony's Coal Fird Pizza and Romano's Macaroni Grill;
  • For dessert lovers, check out Chill-N Nitrogen Ice Cream Parlor on Chalman Field Drive.

After refueling in any of these establishments, you can go shopping. The two largest suburban department stores — Dadeland Mall in the north and The Falls in the south — are ready to offer visitors a modern infrastructure for comfortable shopping. These are not only thousands of square meters of retail rows, but also cozy cafes and spacious car parks. Deadland Mall is the largest shopping mall. More than 200 shops are located under the roofs of its pavilions.

Having bought full bags of necessary or simply liked things, it's time to return with them to your home. There is a huge variety of properties for rent for every taste and budget.

Fans of creativity

For connoisseurs of fine art, we recommend the Chamber Symphony — a professional symphony orchestra at the Episcopal Church of St. Thomas. Most of the concerts take place from October to May in the concert hall of the city university.

A cultural highlight is the local Youth Theater Children Theater. School creative teams hold bright costume performances here. The stage of the children's theater is the best direction in which young artistic talents are revealed.

The indigenous people come here for the weekend. Vacationers in the southern United States can relax on neatly trimmed lawns or play sports as much as they like on any given day of the week.
