It originated from slaves in the 18th century, became popular thanks to Voodoo Queen Marie Laveau in the 19th century, and still functions as an alternative religion in the modern city.

Additionally, if you are interested in museums, make sure to allocate time to visit some of them. The National WWII Museum especially deserves attention — it is one of the largest not only in the USA but also in the world.
