History
History
- Today, everyone is familiar with the well-known Harvard, Princeton, Yale, Stanford, but it is extremely difficult to enter there. We want to tell you about Miami-Dade College — one of the largest educational American institutions on the southeast coast of the Atlantic Ocean in Florida.
- Hundreds of educational institutions here provide education to both indigenous people and foreign citizens. Which is the right one to choose? American Butler will help you with this.
- Getting an education in the USA is prestigious. And not only because it is considered the best in the whole world. There is a limitless choice of specialties, which means that you can count on a good, well-paid job, and, on occasion, freely choose any country for living.
MDC is a unique university that was founded back in 1959 and began accepting students in 1960. At first it worked as an educational institution offering educational courses for a period of two years. His college campus occupied part of the central high school and farm that had previously been built in Miami.
African-American applicants and Cuban outcasts who were not accepted elsewhere were accepted for training. So the educational institution became the first of the integrated schools with a 2-year education. Over time, it expanded both in territory and in the number of students and became larger than the University of Florida.
After 13 years, the Wolfson Campus was built in the city center, and the educational institution became known as Miami-Dade College.
Admission
Admission
- The famous college attracts a huge number of students from all over the world also because it is located in the most attractive city in the United States — Miami, which is located in Miami-Dade County, Florida. More than 161,000 students study here. MDC has 8 campuses.
- Here, from the very beginning, an open policy of admission to training has been pursued, providing opportunities for education to all young people without exception. The educational institution introduced bilingual education, that is, subjects are taught in English and Spanish.
Since 2002, a course has been taken to support gifted students who are going to study here. Since 2003, college graduates have been awarded the title of junior specialist. Of the 161,000 students, about 6,000 further extend their bachelor's degree in A.A./A.S./A.A.S. Desiring graduates can continue their education in other influential institutions by mutual agreement between these educational institutions.
The college is interested in the fact that as many graduates of secondary educational institutions as possible get an education here. For this, special courses and classes are organized here. So the program, for example, holds classes with young people who must pass the Computerized Placement Test (CPT). It tests the ability of prospective students to overcome math and English language requirements.
