Today, zoos are not only entertainment complexes with the participation of wild animals. The idea of creating zoos provides for the preservation of the living stock of rare wild animals that are threatened with extinction in their natural habitat.

As you know, in captivity, the duration and quality of life of animals is much higher than in the wild, in spite of all the protests and indignation of the zoo defenders. A significant life expectancy of animals allows to conduct scientific and breeding work.

Miami Zoo is located about 25 km from the city and the vibrant cultural life of the resort. A place in the suburbs was chosen for the maximum comfort of animals away from noise. The bus to the park goes from Dadeland South Station.

Miami Zoo is divided into 4 main sections. Miami Zoo contains interesting and rare species, endangered species of animals. The park’s ornithology section is one of the most developed in the world, rare birds are successfully breeding in captivity and chicks are sent to other parks to exchange and to continue breeding work.

In each territorial sector, we recommend visiting the winged pavilions — this is a special pride of the park.

How to get around Miami Zoo

The hot climate of Miami suggests shelter from the sun if you are planning an interesting long walk. In Miami Zoo you can rent special wheelchairs with a convenient protective visor from the scorching sun. If desired, you can choose ordinary bicycles.

Wheelchairs are available for people with disabilities and older people. There are electric wheelchair models. By the way, it’s not at all necessary to be disabled to order a comfortable self-propelled stroller, like Xavier from People X or Hawking. If you are with children or planning a long walk, it is better to choose some kind of transport that is stable. The sections of the park are very large and you can get very tired, especially in the heat.
